Frequently Asked Questions
Do you speak Chinese? 我会将普通话。
Yes, after studying and traveling throughout China for 4 years, I am all but fluent in Mandarin. Before starting my own practice, I apprenticed for two years in an acupuncture clinic with an exclusively Chinese speaking patient population. I can see patient’s in whichever language they feel most comfortable.
Do you take insurance?
I contract with American Specialty Health (ASH) and accept Kaiser, Aetna, and Anthem plans among others. Insurance plans offer various levels of coverage and I encourage patient’s to email me a picture of their insurance and ID cards and so I can verify coverage before appointments.
How much do you charge?
Out-pocket patients pay $85. If you are using insurance, your copay will need to be verified before treatment. Insurance only covers the Acupuncture treatment. If you are using insurance, I charge $40 for the 1-hour initial insurance appointment which includes an intake which is not covered by insurance.
Does it hurt?
For the most part, no. As with stretching or massage in Western practices, there may be slight discomfort at times, but the needles and massage techniques employed are not intended to hurt and most patients report feeling incredibly relaxed and rejuvenated throughout the session. I also value the dialogue I have with each patient and moderate the practice to each patient’s needs and comfort level.
How long is each session?
I offer 45 and 60 minute sessions.
